Description Launch from Joemma State Park.  There is a $5 launch fee, lots of parking nice restrooms and overnight camping is available. The beach is rocky as are most Puget Sound beaches. This is a 3 day/ 2 night trip.  The distances are short and is a good paddle for someone who hasn't kayaked and camped.  This gives a good opportunity to practice packing your boat.  With planning you can cut this trip into a 2 day/1 night paddle.

Day 1: The first day plan on paddling to Jarrell Cove.  Jarrell Cove is a state park and is very clean.  The park has a restroom with pay shower facilities.  There is a marina store across from the park which can only be reached by boat.

Day 2: Paddle to Hope Island which is also a state park.  Be sure to review the currents so that you do not end up paddling into the currents in Pickering Passage.  The only facilities on the island is a composting toilet, there is no water available at Hope and camping will be on a first come basis.  This is a very scenic island.

Day 3: Paddle back to Joemma via Squaxin and Hartstine Island.  Plan you paddle through Dana carefully using the tide and current tables to be predict the best time for passage.
